Japanese Art Auction -MEGURU- vol.20 Preview
We will be holding a preview of "MEGURU Art Auction" Vol.20. This auction will feature approximately 700 pieces, the largest number of pieces to date.
From works by Japanese masters such as Ito Jakuchu, Katsushika Hokusai, Yokoyama Taikan, and Uemura Shōen, to auspicious paintings appropriate for the New Year, and elegant works by Sakai Hōitsu, founder of the Edo Rinpa school, who admired Ogata Korin, and Suzuki Kiitsu, there will be a rich lineup of excellent Japanese art. In addition, there will be calligraphy by historical figures such as Saigo Nanshū, Tokugawa Yoshinobu, and Shibusawa Eiichi, pottery by Kawai Kanjiro and Hamada Shoji, who were key figures in the Mingei movement, and chintz fabric, which will be making its first appearance at MEGURU Art Auction. All the pieces will be available for viewing up close without glass cases.
