Exhibition of Kitaoji Rosanjin

In 1919, KITAOHJI Rosanjin founded Taigado Art Gallery of Antiques. Taiga means well-behaved and elegant, and named after Ikeno Taiga, Japanese Calligrapher and painter, whose alias is Taigado. In 2003, we opened “Rokeian”, having a chance to open the gallery at the site of Taigado Art Gallery. Thinking of the Taisho Era (1912-1926) when the aesthetics of Rosanjin was established, we mainly treat his pottery and other artworks. During the period of the event “Tokyo Art Antique,” we have an exhibition of Kitaohji Rosanjin, selecting masterpieces from his enormous works. We would be very much pleased if you come and enjoy the works that can’t help attract us.
