Best Raku Ware Exhibition
Raku tea bowls were first made during the Momoyama period by Chojiro, the first generation member of the Raku family, who was trained by Sen no Rikyu. While successive generations have inherited the hand-kneading technique, they have continued to research and develop unique designs and glazes, and have continued to fascinate us for over 400 years, all the way up to the 16th generation, Raku Kichizaemon.
At our store, we have a collection of masterpieces of black and red tea bowls and tea ceremony utensils from the first generation Chojiro to successive generations.
